By Shai Parchi
With all the incredible food New York City has to offer, how do you make a name for yourself as a chef and restaurant owner? Since moving from Italy to New York City in 2012, chef Silvia Barban has distinguished herself as an ambassador of Italian cuisine, serving fresh pastas at three popular restaurants in Brooklyn: LaRina Pastificio & Vino, Briscola Trattoria and Tortelli. She’s even competed on cooking competition TV shows "Top Chef" and "Bobby’s Triple Threat." In this episode, she shares secrets to success in the food industry and how she draws inspiration from her grandmother, who taught her how to cook.
