Would you like to thank a teacher who has made a difference in your life? This is your chance.

The pandemic had been hard on students, parents, teachers, and families alike. With all of the disruption that has occurred in the lives of young people — the anxiety, the loss, the heartbreak, the fear of not knowing what’s next — many teachers and school staff have provided a steady source of support and comfort.

And it hasn’t just been these past two years. Teachers play a critical role in society and often do not receive the acknowledgement they deserve.

Here at Miseducation, we would like to do our part to let them know how appreciated they are. And we need your help! We are calling for submissions of voice recordings that pay tribute to a current or former teacher. This is open to ALL AGE GROUPS.

Instructions

1. Think of a teacher who has made a positive impact on you. We recommend jotting a few bullet points of what you want to say but not writing a word-for-word script.

💡 Be specific! Instead of saying "So and so was just so kind and thoughtful," tell a story that demonstrates how kind and thoughtful they were.

2. Find a quiet space, and record your tribute as a voice memo on your phone.

🎙 Start the recording by introducing yourself.

⏱ 1-3 minutes is perfect. Please keep it under 7 minutes max.

How to Submit

Submit your tribute using this Google Form.

Alternatively, you can e-mail the recording as an attachment to info@bellvoices.org with the subject line "Teacher Tribute." In the e-mail body, include your full name, your age, your teacher's name, where they work(ed), and what subject/grade they taught.

Publishing

We will publish the teacher tributes we receive on this page later this year and may include them in an episode of the Miseducation podcast.
